The way students are learning today has greatly evolved from the days of a chalkboards, pencils and pens. Today, schools are introducing more interactive ways of learning with the use of Smartboards and iPads in the classroom to better engage students. Virtual Reality could be the next step in bringing technology into the classroom, or bringing the classroom to you. In doing so, students will be able to take virtual field trips into the past or into other cultures across the globe; giving them the opportunity to experience something truly unique which would be far superior to reading a chapter in a textbook. Being able to attended an international lecture from the comfort of your own school, or home for that matter, would be another truly unique and innovative experience. With the recent developments in virtual reality technology these opportunities could be right around the corner.
