Idaho – May 13th, 2022 – Touchstone Research announced today that Michelle Richard has joined the firm as Sr. Qualitative Analyst. Michelle will work closely with TSR’s tech, media and entertainment and youth and clients in executing a wide range of innovative qualitative research programs. Michelle is among 14 new hires added to the firm over the past 12 months.
Michelle is a seasoned qualitative researcher with over 25 years’ experience, including qualitative and quantitative methods with extensive global experience working closely with Fortune 500 companies. Michelle is an expert qualitative moderator having moderated hundreds of sessions and groups since 2007. Michelle’s ability to probe beyond the the rational, high-energy moderating style, and passion for consumer understanding allows her to easily connect with and gain rapport among a variety of consumers of all backgrounds and ages – from kids talking about new cereal ideas to adults and seniors experiencing adult incontinence.
Michelle is experienced in many areas of qualitative research including consumer voice, advertising and communication optimization, concept and positioning development, product and package evaluation, new product development/pipeline generation, and UX research. She has vast experience in qualitative methods including in-person and online focus groups, in-depth interviews, UX sessions, in-home discussions/ethnographies, product evaluation, shop-alongs.
Michelle joins Touchstone from North American Cryobank where she led the Marketing department. Prior, Michelle spent time at Ipsos Understanding Unlimited where she was Senior Qualitative Research Consultant and moderator. Prior, she was a Products Researcher on the R&D team for Procter & Gamble.

Michelle enjoys being outdoors and like to trail run, mountain bike, camp, water-ski and downhill ski. Some fun things Michelle has done over the years include: sky diving and bungee jumping in New Zealand, traveling to many countries around the world including visiting Stonehenge, the Great Wall of China, and Machu Picchu, and running a Marathon in New York City. An interesting fact about Michelle is that she can chirp like a cricket!
